2010 Access Symposium
May 3–5, 2010 Northern Lakes College, Peace River, Alberta
Alberta-North has provided training opportunities for its coordinators since the late 1990s. In 2004, Alberta-North held the first Access Symposium, an event which has since become an annual forum for inter-institutional debate and collaboration. The symposium has evolved from a professional development opportunity for coordinators and staff members to a multi-level exchange among partners. Delegates include coordinators, managers, Alberta-North committee members, other local staff members and delegates from southern institutions.

SUSAN AGLUKARK
Susan Aglukark is a reknown singer, songwriter, and most recently a Distinguished Scholar in Residence at the University of Alberta. We are very excited to have Susan speak via webcast about her Holistic Mentoring Program at the University of Alberta.

DR. LAUGH
Chris Johnson, AKA Dr. Laugh, is an internationally renowned speaker on humour in the workplace. He firmly believes in the power of laughter and humour as an educational tool. Don’t miss his speech during the banquet on Tuesday evening!
Wednesday, May 5th
ELANA MICHELSON
Elana Michelson is a Mentor, Master of Arts in Liberal Studies, for the Center for Graduate Programs at Empire State College in Saratoga Springs, New York. Delegates will hear about her mentoring experiences and learn how they can use mentoring to enhance their relationships with students.

Alberta-North has a block of rooms for delegates at the Sawridge Inn in Peace River on May 3rd and 4th.
Price: $123 (+ 5% GST and 4% Tourism Levy), State group #084548 when reserving your room. Room reservations include a voucher for $10 off breakfast per night.

(Please note the Sawridge is NOT within walking distance of the NLC Campus where sessions will be taking place. It is approximately a five minute drive. However, it is within walking distance to the Belle Petroleum Centre where the banquet will be held on the evening of May 4th.)
