Title: Professor Freedman’s Math Help

Comment: The website provides college students with information about basic math and algebra. Math students can identify their learning style, although there is no connection between learning style and improved math performance. Math anxiety tests reveal the obvious. However, TIPS provided to reduce anxiety and to study more effectively are on the money. Tutorials categorized according to type of problem so no assurance that all problems are covered. The links are numerous. Calculator and Fun Stuff are very good ones! Course outlines are available for the teacher.

Comment: This site provides a wide variety of interactive math practice tools. Users will only find the tools useful if they were previously introduced to the concepts in a math class.

Comment: The videos and interactive elements on this website are designed to show the real life applications of math. They will also help you study for the GED. Complete the downloadable practice exercises to practice your math skills.

Comment: Andrew Radar is the designer of the Number Nut—a commercial math service that Andrew has recently made available free to the public. If you are willing to put up with some small advertising, you can use this interactive site to practice arithmetic. The activities will help you study for the arithmetic component of the GED.

Comment: This website claims to be a fun way to learn about fractions and indeed it is. There are quick and easy to use links to learning how to figure out fractions and how to do many math functions with them such as adding or multiplying them. This site is an excellent learning tool.
HIGH SCHOOL MATH (ALGEBRA, TRIGONOMETRY AND COORDINATE GEOMETRY)

Comment: Online math help. Simply enter the numbers of the math problem into the space provided. The solution will show the computation accompanied by a concise description. The level of difficulty ranges from pre-algebra to Grade 12 calculus. Not every topic or type of solution is covered, but immediate feedback is provided.

Comment: These Algebra Practice Exercises are a little dated, but they do provide some practice for tough algebra topics like factoring.

Comment: This is an interesting website that helps explain graphs. On this page, the user can chose one of five graphs and enter their own information into the graph. There are explanations about the graph itself, and the website does a good job of meeting it’s goal of using graphs to help explain otherwise hard to understand information.

Comment: Many examples and problems of difficult math concepts are found here. This is an excellent tool to see many confusing concepts explained a little easier. There are answers and explanations for all the problems found on this page.

Comment: This site is better used as a resource for a classroom teacher instead of students. However, it can still benefit students. There are many projects or experiments on the site that anyone can do to help out their understanding of science and math. Do not let the plainness of the website hide the fact that there is a lot of information to be found.

Comment: This website links visitors to many different math activities and math lessons on a variety of math topics. There is an easy to use search engine on the page that allows the user to find information easily. Although there are a lot of activity links, not all of them are as educationally valuable as the page leads the reader to believe. The user should read about the activity before trying it; time might be wasted, or a valuable activity might be found.

Title: Simple Interactive Statistical Analysis

Comment: If you know what statistics test you would like to perform on your data, this site will do the test for you without downloading software. The discussions of the individual statistical tests are also informative and interesting. Site is not easy to read, nor is it attractive.

Comment: This website is all about statistics. However, it is not necessarily a math website. There are very good explanations about what certain statistics mean, but brief explanations on how to calculate them. The strength of this website is its ability to explain why certain statistics are used, how to interpret them, and how to use them in writing.

Comment: This site makes a clear effort to explain calculus using many different images and examples. The information is very technical, but appropriate for anyone learning about math or increasing their math knowledge.

Comment: This website takes hard to explain math problems and explains them in hard to understand language. The language used is very technical and would be best understood by someone with good background knowledge of math. Links make it easy to find any sort of math problem with an explanation and occasionally an example.
GRAPHING CALCULATOR TUTORIALS
Title: TI-84 Calculator

Comment: This site provides some free video tutorials on how to use the TI-84 calculator. Many topics are covered, but in order to learn extensively how to use the calculator a paid subscription is required. Certain software is required to run the videos and can be obtained for free through the website, but it will add considerable time onto the time spent on the website.

Comment: The website provides tutorials on how to run basic functions on the calculator. These tutorials are slow and mostly ineffective. There are free downloads for the calculator provided such as transferring programs to the calculator from the computer which make this site very beneficial.

Comment: An excellent website to have as long as the user has their calculator along. The site provides many tutorials and provide the user with adequate instructions and time to follow along with the tutorials to learn the many functions of the calculator.

Comment: This site is a quick way to convert measurements. It is simple to find specific types of measurements and, there are also explanations of each type of measurement. This site can be used as an educational aid to learn what a kilogram is for example, or it can also be used to simply convert kilometers to miles.
