WORKPLACE ESSENTIAL SKILLS
Title: TOWES Measure Up Canadian Site

Comment: This site provides the opportunity to practice the three essential skills needed in all types of occupations. Skills are only based upon 27 occupations, but can still provide a person with valuable information. The tests measure competency in reading text, document use and numeracy. The information linking essential skills for any specific occupation is still generic and of limited use. Site is somewhat confusing due to the tendency of presenting very similar information in different windows.

Not every job is covered but this is a useful tool for helping choose a job or education. Also could be used to organize and present skills on a resume. The instruction/layout is not clear for a first-time user, so help is probably required.
