Comment: This special project of the University of Alberta is an outstanding resource for Canadian families dealing with family violence. Offers easy to read definitions and legal advice for women who are abused in their homes or who are trying to help friends or family members.

Comment: This site is a supplement to the Family Canada Magazine. The content is mostly for entertainment rather than education but there are some gems including easy to prepare meals for busy families. Interactive features such as “Momversation” have been imported from other websites. Beware the commercial content.

It also houses a database of current literature and research on aboriginal youth, and the online journal: First Peoples Child & Family Review. Many other outstanding resources and publications are available at this site.

Comment: This site is an excellent resource for families with teens and pre-teens. Young people can get advice on any topic. They can also read the posts of other youth who may be facing similar issues.
